About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning to live without fixing the paths

ABOUT ME

Someone said that if I was a tree, I would be a rowan, substance - water, metal - quicksilver and would smell like a sea in autumn.. Blah blah. Personally I don't think of myself in such a poetic fashion. I would say that I'm.. calm, though sometimes a bit wacky. I like the unexpected, be it an adventure or a spontaneous meeting for a beer. I try to be what is described by the usual cliché as 'open minded' and live my life as a 'responsible nomad', appreciating the messy reality as it is without squeezing it into any boxes. Basically I prefer meeting people and letting themselves decide what kind of poetic (or not) description of me they should come up with.

PHILOSOPHY

Love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to meet CSers and if I have a possibility to host them as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed a couch when my friend and I hitchhiked to the Netherlands and Belgium; showed newcomers arround in Vilnius; met for drinks with CSers in Berlin.

Interests

Feminism, pornography, critical vandalism, curiosities of the media, Zen Buddhism, breaking up things, fixing things, singing folksongs, looking for philosophy in the everyday, discovering differences of/in people and constantly learning how to think and act them out positively.

Music, Movies, and Books

Various kinds: from Queen and Harry Belafonte, to classical jazz, to folk (oh, Goran Bregovic!), blues, rock'n'roll, goth metal.. My playlist varies with my mood. Recently fell in love with Anthony and the Johnsons, Peaches and The Knife. But Tom Waits is deffinetly one of my most beloved.
Movies: non-Holywood production usualy. But strage deviation - i love fantasy films (those which look more like fairy tails, not horror ones - Lord of the Rings and the like). Kusturica - he manages to make me either laugh or cry. Impressed by: Black Cat White Cat, Pulp Fiction, Sin City, Clock-Work Orange, Into The Wild, Kirkou et la sorciere, all works by Miyazaki.
Books - J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter, Bulgakov's Master and Margarita, Milan Kundera, Tove Jansson, Gintaras Grajauskas, John Irving, Kristijonas Donelaitis, Astrid Lindgren, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The World - for the possibility to live here.
My mother - for i've never met a person more rich with true-life philosophy.
My grandmother's eyes - they are green with brown spots!

Teach, Learn, Share

Try not to forget three things: your zip-code and those two others.
I'm always up for discussing issues of feminism, activism, porn and politics.
I originaly come from Lithuania, so if you're interested in my country and/or need consultation on what to see/do there, just drop me a line!
