Overview
About Me
We're no longer a couple but I can't change the profile name now. I'm Dessie and I'm a teacher of English and have a natural inclinations towards learning and passing on knowledge. I'm very inquisitive and willing to communicate with different kinds of people - I do that in my job and that's why I love it. When I say I'm open-minded I mean I'm open to different ideas and I'm doing my best not to be prejudiced, which does not mean I don't form judgments - I just need enough information to do so.
Exchanging ideas and discovering fellow souls from all around the world is my major goal in life. I love meeting citizens of the world as I am one of them:)
I teach English at university and love doing it. I'm also a translator and textbook author. This is my way of helping people become more open-minded by being able to discover different people and cultures through English. I also advertise CS to see how people react:) Most people think I'm crazy for being part of this...
I don't take myself too seriously. Life is too short for putting on airs and missing the best things out of pride or prejudice :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It used to be a great platform. I've been out of sync for a while but would love to start participating in CS life again.
Interests
I love literature. Reading has always helped in times of trouble and in times of hope. It's one of the best things in my life, apart from my friends (including my boyfriend) and travelling.
I love being active - walking, hiking, doing aerobics, yoga, dancing ...
