About Me
Hello there.
I'm Liam and I'm friendly and open minded. The most important thing to me is to live a good life and not to hurt anyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend introduced me to it a long time ago and I've dipped in and out of the couchsurfing world but always had a great time. You can't beat local knowledge, whether it's hosting or being hosted.
It's a shame but I can't host guests until I'm of a more fixed abode. My girlfriend and I don't have the space right now, not even for most of our stuff!
Interests
I play music, currently playing bass but also play guitar and sing. I also spend an awful lot of time making film and video and it has somehow become my job, so I can't complain about that. I work on small to medium productions mostly for the web but also some larger productions.
- singing
- documentaries
- music
- guitar
Music, Movies, and Books
Music is changing all the time, but a few recent listens: Sufjan Stevens, Young Fathers, Caribou, Beach House, Ought, Kings of Convenience, Diiv, Jon Hopkins...
Book wise I like a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. Recently enjoyed H is for Hawk, Feral. I like Richard Yates even if he's incredibly depressing.
Films - One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, most Paul Thomas Anderson films, some more films.... films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Too many, but living on an uninhabited island in the Seychelles for three months may just take the cake. That and riding a moped from Oxford to Greece and back.
Teach, Learn, Share
Everyone should watch 'The Lottery of Birth' the documentary. It tells you most of what you need to know about living on this planet.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good chats, good humour, putting the world to rights.
Countries I’ve Visited
Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malaysia, Mauritius, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Seychelles, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United States, Wales
