About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To try and discover exactly what I am supposed to be doing - or at least what I want to do for now :). In general, resisting adulthood!
ABOUT ME
The most important addition to my profile is that I am now married. My wife and I both enjoy travelling and hosting travelers alike. So if you're comfortable staying with both my wife and me, we have space for you to stay!
We enjoy just about anything outdoors, hiking, cycling, camping, kayaking, fly fishing, gardening, swing dancing and more. Speaking of swing dancing, we are the organizers of Strictly Swing Spokane. Check us out at www.strictlyswingspokane.com. You can also visit me on my real estate site at www.codykerr.com.
When we get the time we love to travel to new places, even if it's only a few minutes away. We want to see as much of the world as we can, even if that means washing our clothes in hotel sinks and surfing couches across the globe. Any place that has a coffee shop is definitely a must stop!
We also love to experience different cultures, particularly their cuisines and languages.
We enjoy meeting new people. Whether it's to help the passersby spend time on their way through or make new friends, either way we can help someone pass the time is great.
PHILOSOPHY
"The world is a book, and those who don't travel read only one page." - Augustine
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
"If people don't occasionally walk away from you shaking their heads, you're doing something wrong." - John Gierach
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When my wife and I are home we try to host surfers whenever possible. Sometimes if we can't host we try to give as much travel advice as we can to make someone's visit more realistic and less touristy. Couchsurfing is a great concept and we've had great experiences hosting and being hosted. We hope this project continues!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Shawshank Redemption, A Few Good Men, Tommy Boy, Napoleon Dynamite, Office Space. Almost any type of "thinker" flick, or suspense and drama.
Music: You name it, well, except Yanni or something like that. :) I have a particular interest in swing dancing music, old jazz and jump blues stuff.
Books: Where the Red Fern Grows (ah, childhood memories). The Far Side by Gary Larson! I know there are others but can't think of them now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived a nasty copperhead snake bite . . . after coming out of the woods in the dark because I was fly fishing too late. I was hospitalized for four day, in intensive care for two of those. Lovely......
My wife has survived three very bad car wrecks.
Between the two of us we're either the most unfortunate or luckiest individuals around. I'd say we make a dangerous combination, but life couldn't be better together and we look out for each other well, so the accidents have significantly decreased since we've been married :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to fly fish!!! If you can swing dance (even if you can't, you can learn) and there's a dance when you're here you can come and shake-shimmy with us! My wife is the more skilled (and better looking) of the two of us.
Hope for and believe in the goodness of people even if it is buried somewhere deep down inside.
Above all, through all - be positive and enjoy live! Don't be crabby. Crabs belong in the ocean, not on land :).
