About Me
CURRENT MISSION
planting seeds for travel in the near future
ABOUT ME
For me, it is difficult to answer the most commonly asked question, especially when I am traveling, "Where are you FROM?"
I am Vietnamese American. This means that I was born in Vietnam but raised in America.
I have lived off and on in Atlanta for the last 15 years. In the interim, I lived in New York for 4 years; backpacked throughout Europe for almost 6 months in 2007; lived in Hong Kong for 4 months in 2010; and 9 months backpacking 2013-2014.
I am an anomaly to many people as they try to figure me out. I am not your typical anything: woman, Asian, American, writer, or traveler. The best way to understand me is simply to get to know me rather than try to figure me out. I've been called a hippie, a tree hugger, a teacher, a healer, a guru to many friends and strangers, and a free spirit.
In my own terms, I consider myself an avid nomad of the world with a passion for diversity, healing & inspiring those around me, and seeing the world through a deeper, spiritual perspective. I am indeed a very cerebral person but I also know how to have fun! I am a FREE SPIRIT through and through and I love to challenge the social conditionings of our world.
PHILOSOPHY
Raised Buddhist though baptized Baptist. Firm believer in the powers of the mind; pure, unconditional love; the laws of the attraction; and my intuition. I live my life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Buddha combined.
Sharing a genuine cultural exchange among curious, kind hearted people. It's a most beautiful moment in time when that occurs. I really love getting to know the locals wherever I travel, hear their stories and be welcomed into their worlds. These things are much more valuable to me than cramming in tourist attractions during my visits. I also love engaging discussions about life, the universe, living consciously and anything that feeds the mind and spirit.
"I live in a Universe of abundance as I freely & joyfully give. I join in the Divine flow. And all that I share with Life returns to me, multiplied abundantly. And so it is."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My specialty lies in editing people's profiles, passing on good tips on how to use the site & personally embodying the spirit of CS so that I can inspire others to join or to stay active within the community.
I surf and host and I join groups when I am visiting new places so that I can meet the CS community. I have recruited many personal friends to join CS and whenever I talk about CS, people joke that I am the CS spokesperson because they can feel my passion for the community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CS changes your life permanently and profoundly but the key is to surrender to & trust the process.
