PHILOSOPHY
A lot of people talk about revolution. Very few actually start one. There's a World out there that needs some rescuing. You can help. You say you want a revolution? It all starts with you. A decision to go to the farthest corners of the earth and to your neighbor next door. Don't just talk about it. Begin living the revolution. Your adventure awaits. We've got places to go, people to see and a World to change. You coming, or what?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dallas Airport 2007
The air was filled with a mixture of anxious emotion, bravery and even slight fear as the terminal was full of US Military clinging onto their families and the man I met his jokes, as they awaited their plane which would take them back to the front lines of war in the Middle East. I don't know his name and he probably doesn't even know it, yet a US Solider that day in the Dallas Airport changed the course of my life. We struck up a conversation and he ceaselessly teased me about my many questions I was asking, but yet changed tone suddenly when I told him that I was at the stage, as a young woman, when I was trying to figure out what to do with my life. He interrupted me suddenly and stated almost sternly, yet with compassion and experience "Stop trying to figure out what to do. Figure out who you want to be, who you are and pursue that." So, here I am back at the Couch Surfing website, trying to pursue who I want to BE. Thank-you sir, whoever you are. I salute you and I am praying for you. Thank-you for taking the time to share from your heart and your experience. It made a difference.

Here I am sitting in a rip-off of Starbucks in Cambodia.
The irony.
Frappe in Cambodia,
home away from home?
Comfort food?
Or, food to keep us in our comfort zones?
Here I am sitting in a fake Starbucks, in Cambodia.
The irony.
