ABOUT ME

...an abstract painter, i've chosen to live my life in a different way...challenging but fullfilling! i can both be very quiet and a very intense intimate friend, and sometimes very outgoing, partying, dancing till dawn...sometimes very quiet and meditative, sometimes very talkative...
A buddhist for many years i try to live my life in a very honnest way...i don't lie, steal or kill (vegetarian but not fussy...when it comes to sharing or discovering new dishes i can have meat or fish, humans come first!)and try to cultivate the maximum honnesty about myself

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

offering a couch, paticipating sometimes to events organised by the wonderful CS community in Singapore, and surfing couches once in a while when I travel...or just meeting CSer for coffe or drinks to get some insders info and make new friends! :)

Interests

I love languages, learning new ones or dreaming of learning new ones... After 4 years of Mandarin lessons, i want to start lerning Malay or Indonesian to feel really at home in Singapore...
Italian is my favourite language, but i have no time or opportunity to learn it in Singapore..but i could stay for hours listening to Italians!!!
but in general....i love reading, chatting, good wine, dancing, yoga, snorkelling, swimming, cycling in the countryside (flat land please!!!!), skiing, hiking in the mountains, cooking, matchmaking, renting silly dvds (hooked on american series!!!...the "good" ones...), never watching tv, listening to the french cultural radio for which i worked before (france culture....if you speak french try it! wonderful documentaries, ask me for advice...), chilling out at the best beach bar in singapore on sunday evenings, dreaming in front of a fire or in a cab at night, teaching art to kids, travelling around the world, listening to my friends and helping them the best i can, meeting all kinds of people, and sharing...partying hard regularly....and sharing experiences about our amazing path through life....

All kinds of movies...but not a great fan of the basic hollywood blockbusters...
Music: lots of different stuff....Radiohead, Bach, Keith Jarret, Noir Desir, Miossec, Garbage, Nirvana, Janis Joplin, Neil Young, Jimmy Hendrix, Dominique A, RnB in clubs, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Akosh S Unit, Mercury Rev, Barbara, Ella Fitzgerald, Ali Farka Toure, Neil Young, indian music from traditionnal ragas to bollywood hits, north african music, the piano and cello...etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

played with dolfins in Malaysia, changed totally my life and let down everything at 27 after falling in love with painting...followed my lucky star around the world...discovered that the most beautiful paintings are actually in the toilets of the Louvre, been kidnapped for 1 hour in paris by a guy who had just escaped the asylum, lived 3 years in a small village by the ocean, spent a full month in a buddhist meditation retreat in Boddhigaya,India), and another one month retreat in nortern malaysia in a Burmese Monastery, done the Vipassana retreat too (Goenka...in a flooded sportshall in malaysia!, kissed an old homeless guy in paris, hoped, hoped, always hoped even in the most dire situations...

Teach, Learn, Share

what i can teach? painting of course, cooking, french, english, chinese...how to get free and backstage to any concert ;) and how to make friends with all the taxi drivers in the world!
what i want to learn? how the world looks like from your point of view...
