About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live into my fully expanded self

ABOUT ME

I recently got married in Bali where I was living for a year. My wife, Yuli, and I have just moved back to the states and are looking to create a beautiful, fulfilling life for ourselves in Tucson, AZ.

I have written a couple spiritual non-fiction books and work with clients doing karmic re-patterning type work. I also teach classes online and intend to start leading in person workshops around a new healing modality I call Directed Compassion. Prior to the spiritual career, I worked in the private sector for about a decade, earned an MBA and such. Outside of career, my main interests have been my spiritual pursuits, traveling, reading, chess, racket sports and spending time outdoors. I'm originally from Oregon, grew up in Indiana, and have lived mostly in major cities as an adult - e.g., San Francisco, New York and others...

Yuli was born and grew up in a small village in Bali, Indonesia. She worked at a spa doing Balinese Massage for a couple years before meeting me and getting married. Since in the U.S., she has learned English, learned how to drive on the right side of the rode (left side in Bali), and worked at a Thai restaurant and as a certified nursing assistant. Yuli loves flowers and cooks really great Balinese and Indonesian food. She is good at picking up new languages and wants to learn Spanish and Japanese.

We both want to meet lots of interesting new people in Tucson and like learning new things and skills.

PHILOSOPHY

My outer world reflects my inner world. I am an empowered being that can experience greater joy in my life and better the world around me by attainig higher levels of consciousness, deeper levels of love and compassion, and by coming into greater alinement with my Self and the universe.

Music, Movies, and Books

Edward: The Matrix, Moulin Rouge, Avatar, Zoolander, Caribou, Broken Social Scene, Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine, Cat Scientist, The Shins, Johnny Hartman, Mumford & Sons, Madonna, The Shins, Muse, Lumineers, Anatomy of the Spirit: Seven Stages of Power and Healing

Yuli: Titanic, Avatar, Something About Mary, Grey's Anatomy, Kabhi Khusi Khabi Gham, Ra one, Mohabbatein (and other Sharulk Khan movies), Karma phala. Indonesian Books, Books on Hinduism, Books about the brain, psychology and science in general, Alanis Morisette, Lady Gaga, Lindsey Stirling, Classical Violin, Lumineers, Adele, traditional Balinese Music, Fun., Akon, Bruno Mars and many others (Pandora radio is usually on 6 or 8 hours a day)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Edward: Vipassana meditation 18 hours a day in a monastery in Burma. Visiting my birthplace in the woods of Oregon the summer I turned 21. Getting married in a traditional Balinese ceremony in Bali earlier this year.

Yuli: watching the cremation ceremony for someone from the King's family in Bali - the largest, most ornate ceremony I have ever seen; taking care of people over 100 years old at my job as a CNA; visiting Singapore - the first time I had experienced a big city; tasting great foods from all around the world; learning meditation and yoga from my village Pendeta (Hindu priest)

Teach, Learn, Share

Edward: I can help someone work through business ideas/plans or help with career/education/lifeplanning type issues. I can teach them about meditation, manifestation or related topics - anything covered in my books really. On a case by case basis I can do some pretty deep transformative work with people if that is what arises for us.

I cook a mean omelet, and I am happy to share my omelet secrets and to impart whatever other wisdom I may have accumulated along the way...

As for me, I'd love to learn how to cook a greater variety of food and/or prepare some tasty raw food dishes. I'd like to learn about making documentaries and more generally anything creative. I'd like to learn how to DJ and to fly an airplane or helicopter. Rockclimbing sounds cool, and maybe someone could teach me everything I would have learned had I been in boyscouts - like how to tie a square knot. I'd like to try skydiving, so even if someone can't teach me, if they want to go with that would be great. Come to think of it, learning how to sail would be cool too - clearly I have a lot to learn!

Yuli: I can teach people or help them practice Indonesian and Balinese language; Balinese massage; how to cook Balinese and Indonesian food - especially great spicy food!

I want to learn Spanish and Japanese, yoga, raw food recipes, maybe how to DJ, and how to finish the rubix cube (can complete 5 sides but have trouble with the last one...)
