About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go watch the HUMP! Film Festival in Seattle.

ABOUT ME

I'm a stand up comedian and walking tour guide in Vancouver, BC. I am easy going and like meeting new folks. Learning new stories about people and about cities is my jam. I'm queer, I eat any kinds of foods and I like walking and biking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted several couch surfing travelers with my lovely roommates in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was always a fun time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted some excellent human beings back in the day when we had couches that were big enough for sleeping on... I am getting my travel on now and I get to try out being the guest.

Interests

I've been writing and performing standup for 9 years. It's fun to figure out how to bring people into what you think is funny/maddening/interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Princess Bride is an all-time fav., Billy Elliot, Waking Ned Divine, Garden State, War of the Buttons.
Music: Blues, Rock, Bluegrass, Rap/hip-hop of the non-gangstah variety.
Books: The Diviners, I Killed: Stories of the Road from America's Comics, fairy tales, Anne of Green Gables, Angus, thongs and a full-frontal snogging, Blink, Wicked, Kit's Law.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I Bungy Jumped naked. There was some body paint if that makes it better for ya. I had to get pushed off of the bridge though because I don't do heights well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I thought I had things figured out. Now I know that I don't. Life goes on and it's still pretty sweet.

I just edited this profile (it was about a year and a half old) and I deleted about 30 exclamation marks! I don't know if that means I am mellowing out or getting cynical. :-)

At this point I feel that I have done just enough learning to throw off most of my previous ideas about how the world works, yet not enough learning (in school or otherwise) to fill in the gray areas with certainty. The things that I am sure of are that family and friends are the most important thing, that music gives me something that I can't explain, and that I really love to eat good food. Beyond that I am still trying to sort things out.
