ABOUT ME

I'm always looking for a new tune to learn or some different musicians to play with, or just a different sound. I love to travel, and the best is when I can finance my travels with playing music, whether it's playing 'real' venues with a band and getting paid or busking in the street for change. To make ends meet when I'm not on the road I teach private lessons in fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, and standup bass.
Other than music and travelling, I love food, reading, playing games, going out with friends, staying home by myself, pondering life's big questions, not thinking at all.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't worry about how good you look doing it or whether or not you're impressing anyone, just as long as you're into what you're doing and enjoying it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done more hosting than surfing at this point and it's just been great. "How do you know these people?" my friends ask me, "How do you know they're ok?" Well, I meet 'these people' through couchsurfing, and they always turn out to be great!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My trip to Iceland would have never happened if it weren't for couchsurfing. I spent three or four nights in Reykjavik and met other couchsurfers, really had a great time. Since then I've just been hosting people in Richmond and occasionally meeting fellow couchsurfers in random places.

Música, películas y libros

Yes, yes, yes. Music, I mainly like live music of almost any kind. There's something to enjoy or to learn from in almost any performance. Movies, I like the ones that are beautiful to look at or that are very funny, or somehow unique or thought-provoking. Documentaries, comedy, drama, westerns, sci-fi, horror, could be just about anything. Books, I like a lot of poetry but I also hate a lot of poetry. I like fiction and nonfiction, classics, modern, comics, whatever. I always need book recommendations. Please tell me what your favorite books are, or what you think I ought to read.
