About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Towards a more intense present

ABOUT ME

Finished University this year. Sufficiently repulsed by Graduate jobs for the time being to be doing research for a Ph.D, fretting over creative projects and trying to work out the practicalities of being a lawyer that doesn't make the world a worst place while charging for it. Beyond that, I guess I'm interesting in reading, thinking, writing, and discussion alongside a raft of crude interests like heavy music, action films, comic books and combat sports.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is meaningless, but nihilism is boring. thus, finding truth becomes a matter of committing yourself to contingencies, which inevitably means getting in over your head. In addition, never stop finding things funny, beware of the overtly sincere and remember that there is at least a 50% chance that you're right in most situations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, my flat last year hosted a bunch of couchsurfers. This time around I don't really have a permanent local so I'm hoping that I can mainly be the one hosted. Or something.

Music, Movies, and Books

Having an identity via consumption isn't the most appealing thing in the world. Bookwise I like Delilo, Zizek, Deleuze, Nietszche, Bellow, Mike Davis, McCarthy, Jameson and about a million others. Filmwise I just don't like having my time wasted by things which are neither really bad or really good, but find that the appeal of a film lies in its ideological content more than anything else. As for music I tend to like anything with sufficient intensity, which ranges from Beethoven to the Dillinger Escape Plan.
