ABOUT ME

I come up with things that would be fun to do and I do them ... the last was to get to Antarctica. I ended up there as a janitor. I'm not ready to 'settle down' and am constantly scheming ways to see the world. I'm known for working hard to accomplish a goal. Right now, my priority is to see as many familiar faces in unfamiliar places as possible. I have a few friends that I have seen on four continents.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I sleep on couches expecting sooner than later to return the favor. A goal of mine is to soon live in a desirable destination so I can host CSers and return the hospitality that's been shown to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been able to couch surfing in five different countries on three continents. I know now that CS is more than a place to stay but a philosophy and a way to live life. I feel most comfortable CSing than at hostels, B&Bs, hotels, etc. Many of my most memorable travel experiences have come through the places I have been allowed to stay.

I prefer documentaries over movies. I love, love, love to read. I usually choose political non-fiction. Music is life. I'm always looking for suggestions.

Well, I went to Antarctica and was privileged enough to see emperor penguins in their natural habitat.

I rang in the 2008 summer solstice in the inner circle of Stonehenge and the 2009 winter solstice in Antarctica watching auroras. I spent the summer of 2012 conducting health education sessions in a rural community in Uganda.

I'm working on that. I would like to learn to play an instrument and to speak another language.

Through reading and research I feel that I possess a bit of knowledge about a lot of different subjects and am always interesting in having a discussion so that I may learn from others and hopefully give them food for thought in return. I also have had fortunate experiences that I would love the opportunity to discuss with others.
