About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be involved in volunteer work that is interesting, and hopefully produce positive restults..

ABOUT ME

We retired in 1997, gave up our townhouse in Denver Colorado. We planned on traveling to Alaska and Nepal, and then decide where to live. By chance we became involved in an archeological excavation in wilderness Alaska which lead to a volunteer lifestyle. We spent two years in Alaska, 2 years in China, 5 months in Siberia, 2 months in Turkey, 4 months in Eastern Europe, a summer in the Russian Far East, several years in USA campaigning, and time in various wildlife conservation projects in the western USA.

We typically volunteer 6 - 9 months a year, mainly on wildlife protection efforts but also political, disaster, educational, and economic development efforts.

We lived "residence free for 12 years - no house, no apartment, no RV, just a Ford Escort station wagon. Currently we have a house in Canon City, Colorado.

Fall through Spring we are volunteer tutors (K - 3 reading and math for Donna, algebra in high school and the local state prison for Roger). Summers we usually volunteer on a project somewhere in the US or world.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying to improve the world is more interesting than trying to improve you home.
