About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life, make new friends and make sure the world keeps on spinning.

ABOUT ME

Hello, Dia Dhuit, Bonjour, Hola, Merhaba, Dobro Dan!

After trampling across three continents for the past four years, I've settled for the time being the fantastically magical Edinburgh - guys actually wear kilts here...like, normally. Madness.
It's an absolute pleasure of mine to be able to share stories, laughs, food and drinks with fellow travellers from all around the world.
I originally hail from the capital of Ireland, Dublin and since moving away in 2010 I have travelled and worked my way through Canada, Australia, Europe and the UK.

PHILOSOPHY

Life goes by so fast, that if you don't stop and look around now and again, you might just miss it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met two crazy couchsurfers in Serbia a long time ago. From then on I enjoyed meeting / hosting some couchsurfers. Since then it's been a blast surfing through Europe, hosting lovely folk and meeting great people from around the world.

Interests

Listening to crazy and bizarre stories, tasting the good (and bad) local food/ drinks, getting lost down little city alleyways and large green forests, people watching over a coffee, scouting a local football game in a foreign land, discussing strange science fiction/futuristic ideas, random spontaneous adventures, and so so much more!

So far on my adventures I have snowboarded and stalked Grizzly bears in Canada, smoked fine cigars in Havana, caught a solar eclipse, crashed our jeep in the Australian Outback, explored the haunted castles of Ireland, snorkelled with whale sharks in Philippines, hot air ballooned my way across scenic Cappodocia in Turkey, saw Dracula in Transylvania, chased Nelly around Loch Ness in Scotland, received a lifetimes radiation dosage in Chernobyl, watched Ireland in Euro 2016 and bunkered down under Tirana Albania.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in the Canadian Rockies was an amazing experience, waking up to breathtaking scenery every morning was something else!
EDIT! - Recently explored the nuclear wasteland of Chernobyl, which was frickin awesome and terrifying at the same time!

Teach, Learn, Share

"A stranger is a friend you've never met" - Albert Einstein, or wait, was it Neil Armstrong? Ummmm.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully I can find the time to cook you a little treat, either savoury or sweet - seemingly my cooking has come on leaps and bounds in the past couple of years. I have plenty of bizarre stories, I tend to attach odd people to say the least.
