ABOUT US

We are an Aussie couple from Adelaide, South Australia, who went on an 18-month trip around Europe, the UK, North America and Central America in 2008 where we discovered the wonders of couchsurfing.

We've since settled in our hometown of Adelaide where we've bought a house, got hitched and had a baby. We want to return the favour of couchsurfing whenever we can - however with a little one, it may not always be possible.

We are in our early 30s and Lizzi works in Digital Communications and Josh is a PE and English Teacher.

We live about 15 minutes from the Adelaide CBD and a few minutes from the Mitcham train station.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that travelling is all about the journey, not the destination. Whilst the destination is definitely a big part of the trip, we also love everything that happens along the way, especially if it is random and unexpected! These are the times that make the best memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are happy to host travellers whenever we are able to. We don't have the time to do it very often and since the arrival of our first baby this will also limit CS opportunities, however we are always happy to receive requests.

The better the request (well-written, friendly, have read our profile, etc) the more likely we will accept a request - it's hard to say no to people who have obviously put in a bit of effort to send us a really nice message/request!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We stayed with a bunch of lovely people around Europe and North America, and some of these couchsurfing memories will stay with us forever!

We are so glad we stumbled across this whole couchsurfing organisation - it's great! What an awesome idea that allows fellow travellers to meet, share their travels, experience different cultures, and make new friends.

In 2012 we honeymooned in the beautiful island of Boracay in the Philippines - a blissful place of crystal blue waters, white sand, palm trees, and cheap cocktails!

Over Christmas and New Years of 2012/2013 we also went on a 5 week trip to Germany (Bavaria), Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Paris, Switzerland, New York, Canada (Whistler), Vegas and LA.

In July 2013 we went to New Zealand for the first time to go snowboarding - and are now in LOVE with our beautiful neighbouring land of sheep. So quick to get to from Australia, with AWESOME snow!

In April 2014 we went to Japan to visit the snow yet again and loved our time in this interesting, beautiful and friendly country.
