ABOUT ME

we love to travel and also made a one year trip on our motorbikes to india once.

we still like to ride, but haven't make this big trips, although going to marocco by bike recently was very great!

hendriks main hobby is playing base guitar in a band (having a gig once in a while) and playing squash.
marike is enjoying her time with acrobatics and acro-yoga.

we're a quite settled in our nice appartment with the two cats and full time jobs.
it's good to hear some new and fresh stories every now and then!
after not being active on couchsurfing for some time, we decided to give it another go. be welcome.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

surfed for a couple of times, but mainly hosting a lot of people, eventhough we have taken sort of a break recently.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have stayed with CS-hosts once in Madrid and a couple of times in India, which was amazing! too bad we only found out about CS when almost at the end of our world trip.

and by now we have welcomed lots of people in our place as well. sometimes it feels like we have known eachother for years, sometimes it's awkard, and always interesting.
depending on workload and own travels we have active and less active periods of hosting. but we do miss it when it has been quiet for some time!

Interests

Hendrik:
motorbikes; in india i fell in love with royal enfields bullet.
books: the accident of the dog in the night time is really great.
and i love music. listening and playing base guitar.
Marike:

music: tool, metallica, rammstein, muse, classical indian muisic too. play guitar and bass-guitar.
movies: the matrix, gandhi, intacto, das experiment, festen, amsterdamned ;),
books: zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, lonely planet, paulo coelho has some nice ones.
tv-serials: six feet under and dexter (this micheal c. hall is amazing: in one serial he's a shy gay and in the other a secret serial killer, both convincing)!!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

our nephew having his umbulical ceremony in uganda!
last summer marike has made a secular pilgrimage to santiago de compostela in spain by foot. starting from amsterdam, more than 2600 km.
