About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Honestly, I just have a harder time traveling where I don't know anyone, or have a reason to be there.
Part of why I like to travel is seeing and smelling and feeling places themselves, but an even larger part is getting to meet people whose life is there.
When I am so lucky to meet and stay with a host, it feels so much better. I feel like I am actually IN a place, rather than hovering above it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My introduction to couchsurfing was on the raft trip; we stayed with Nate in Memphis, and it was a wonderful introduction to this idea! We had a blast. And then with Ana in Baton Rouge, a wonderful time. Years later, traveling around Europe, visiting friends, and couchsurfing in between.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2007, I was part of an art project in which a group of us, with the help of the community, designed and built a raft to take down the Missouri and Mississippi rivers to salt water from Kansas City. The project is 'Release Yourself Onto the Water Until It Tastes of Salt'. We left Kansas City July 21,and arrived in New Orleans on thanksgiving; with a 51-day layover in Vicksburg, MS. It has been an absolutely increadable and unpredictable experience! ...it lead me to my new home.
What I Can Share with Hosts
