About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to explore cultures and ideas that challenge my current ways of thinking.
ABOUT ME
I am an extremely relaxed and patient person, looking to make friends and learn from acquaintances. The outdoors have always been a passion of mine, and I hope to one day guide for a mountaineerin company of sorts. The simple things in life are what make me comfortable, and for me comfort equates to happiness. I love reading and traveling, friends and family. My girlfriend and I are from Idaho, and I believe it is one of the greatest places on earth. Small towns with friendly people, and secrets hidden everywhere you go. That being said, I can't get enough of other people's cultures and traditions. I am very interested in what other people think and do, and where those thoughts and actions stem from. To have someone express where they came from and how it has sculpted their personality allows us to better understand ourselves as well. I hope to travel and learn, and I hope to make as many close relationships as i can in the process.
PHILOSOPHY
Being awkward can be great, and whats the point of traveling if you don't get lost sometimes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted several surfers in our small college house over the past few years, and they have all been amazing. I have tried to go to CS organized events in my area, but haven't been able to make very many of them. Hopefully as i start to settle down I will be able to donate a little more time into the project.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As mentioned above, i have hosted several people. I have also stayed with a few very nice hosts that have fed me and escorted me to their favorite hometown hideouts without ever asking anything in return. So far i have not had a bad experience, and I am always hoping to gain some good karma by helping out those staying with us.
Interests
Everything outdoors, travel, different cultures, people, etc. There are too many interests to list here, but I suppose that just means i am interested in learning. Any pursuit of interests is considered an educational pursuit as i see it.
- boating
- reading
- traveling
- outdoor activities
- tourism
- mountains
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: anything
Music: Anything, im partial to folkish type stuff though, yet i have over 15,000 songs on my computer, so im sure we have some type of genre in common
Books: too many to list individually, but some big ones for me are The Power of One, Catch-22, The Transall Saga, Dante's Inferno, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived in Alaska...and from what i have seen so far it is amazing.
I have camped countless times in both the deserts and mountains of Idaho, and as i said before it is the most amazing place on earth.
I have built churches in Mexico and drank rum punch on a boat ride to Mayan ruins in Belize.
I have saved a life, and have helped several people with life issues.
I have had a lot of chances to experience and do amazing things, and i know that i will have the chance to do many more.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hopefully I will be able to just educate people on who i am and where i am from. I wan't to inspire people to see where I grew up because I have enjoyed it so much. As far as learning, i want to know as much as possible about the people I stay with and host, and hopefully through them I can learn about all of the places i want to travel and explore.
