About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Recovering from a serious injury...

ABOUT ME

Like my current mission states. I was hit by a semi-truck while working out on my bicycle. I broke my neck and left shoulder. I have one surgery left as of 5-15-12 and can't wait for it to be over. I'm also a nursing student. This injury has made working as a flight medic no longer possible.

PHILOSOPHY

You have to show respect to get respect. Plan B if that doesn't work.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I still have lots of snorkeling gear and go out occasionally on my days off. I have extensive local knowledge of our surrounding waters and enjoy sharing it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I toured with the Grateful Dead for many years and have made some great friends. I do not exactly fit the stereotypical deadhead mold, but who cares. During those years, I slept in many different places...

Interests

Spearfishing and Diving.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything trippy, adventure/history related, or depicting the catastrophic demise of the human race due to their ugly ways(28 days later, Return of the Living Dead, I am legend, etc...). Music, anything but opera and rap. Books, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, On the Road, and Huckleberry Finn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crawled on the Aztec Pyramids, Dove the Tongue of the Ocean off Andros. Diving in the Cayman and Bimini Islands. Spearfishing ship wrecks in 120' of water. Growing up in Chicago. I stood in the eye of Hurricane Andrew, which later destroyed most of where I lived. Since, I've been through seven more hurricanes.

Teach, Learn, Share

CPR saves lives. Without it, it is extremely rare to revive an individual in cardiac arrest that then continues to live their life deficit free. CPR prior ACLS intervention saves lives. DON'T LOOK THE OTHER WAY. Learn it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Cayman Islands, Mexico, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In
