About Me

CURRENT MISSION

[TOP SECRET]

ABOUT ME

I spent a few years traveling on a job, then a few more freighthopping & hitchhiking around the USA. I've never owned a car, and since 2005 I had only one job, off and on, for about three years (cumulative).

I like to see the city walls come alive, getting covered in posters and stencils and murals, whether authorized or not. Why should all the good art be in rich folks' homes and galleries?

I hunted the last unicorn in early September 2001, but my headline was pre-empted by, well...y'know. But I'm not bitter.

After 28 years of sobriety I'm interested to experience mescaline, DMT, psilocybin, opium, LSD; perhaps you have some tales to tell regarding these things, or want to team-up and tackle them?

In mid-2009 I ended 12 years of being vegetarian, for better or worse; I'm not preaching nothing, but happy to talk about it if that suits ya.

Until this recession hit, I owned Napoleon Bonaparte's preserved bladder; eBay took their cut, but I still made a pretty penny. (Don't rob me!)

I do not use Facebook or Twitter or whatever will be the trend tomorrow; generally, I think technologies have brought more harm than good to the world.

And I believe in life *before* death, not after.

PHILOSOPHY

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do." - Mark Twain
"Let your life be a counter-friction to stop the machine."
- Henry David Thoreau
"My country is the world, and my religion is to do good."
- Thomas Paine
Also, "Chinaman" is not the preferred nomenclature: Asian-American, please.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done my share of surfing; when I've had an apt. (a brief couple times), I tried hosting people as much as I could.
Maybe it's time to travel with some other CS'ers?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Has been amazing, no substantial complaints.
Most folks are AWESOME, nothing less; a couple people have been rude, a few have been flaky/unreliable (nobody's perfect). Overall, CS experience has been *excellent*.

Interests

I like thoughtful conversation, reading, quoting/watching The Big Lebowski, stencil graffiti, bowling, climbing and parkour, karaoke, dumpster diving.

A nighttime ride over the Huey Long Bridge was stunning!
An awesome 2am ride snaking through/around tunnels and archways of downtown Baltimore, MD, after 30 hours aboard a freight train from Chicago, IL.
