ABOUT ME

My name is Dani, and I am a 24 year old fun-loving Cancer. Born and raised in Virginia, very close to D.C., but am now residing in the very beautiful state of Washington with my husband and baby girl. Joey is 24 year old Leo who is full of energy, and our baby, Mistaya, is a Cancer who was just born this year! In 2004, Joey and I escaped the D.C. suburbs and embarked on a three month road trip to the West Coast. We lived in our car and our tent during that time, and had an amazing journey until we ran out of money in Olympia, WA. We've been here ever since, and absolutely love it! Joey does trail work for Mount Rainier, and I became a full time mama in July of 2007. Mistaya is our lovely little girl, and I have dedicated my life (well, at least the next 18 years!) to providing her with a healthy, happy, and stimulating environment!

PHILOSOPHY

The best things in life are not things. It's not about who you know, but who you love! Nothing is more important than the experience!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very new to this project. I discovered it whilst trying to find a way to relax with my family in Hawaii on a budget, but also be surrounded by nice people that could show us the ins and outs. I'm not looking for a free ride though, I love to cook up fabulous meals and clean!
Though I'm new to this project, my couch has been home to many friends and travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, and am in to many types. I draw the line with music that involves violence, racism, disparaging women, and other negativities. I prefer music that is happy, positive and uplifting.

Natural underwater childbirth, and I'd do it again ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook, bake and ferment, as well as the science behind these processes! I could inform you on more than you'll ever need to know about breastfeeding. I would love to share my skills in the wilderness! I'm willing to learn just about anything that you would like to show me.
