ABOUT ME

I don't really have an appreciation for this section...but I'd say my friends know I love language, travel, and good times. Not a big fan of stuffy people; or the religious; or the self-righteous...ok it's a long list. Just be cool and don't be lame. They'd say I talk a lot, both with erudtition and like a sailor. I'm a bit mercurial, intense, but when I make a mistake, I have no problem apologizing and confronting errors in judgement.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people and help them travel! And when I travel, to meet them and their cities in context of each other, thereby really having a traveler's, rather than a tourist's, experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music from all genres and am always looking for more. I'm a pretty selective moviegoer, but I can watch a purely entertaining film (if I have to...:-) ) I tend to read older American and English writing, both fiction and non-fiction, but also many books about my main love: language.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh too many to list, but here's a few:
-Being in Chichen Itza for the End of the Long Count with my dad
-Walking atop the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan
-The view of Cologne from the top of the Dom
-The Celtic ruins atop the Puy de Dome, Auvergne.
-The Medieval Christmas Market in Munich.
-Kufstein on the German-Austrian border.
