About Me

CURRENT MISSION

one day at a time until i get back home

ABOUT ME

usu found rawking the decks at home, walking around alone with a camera, or racing around on a bicycle to find fruit, bread, cheese, legumes, or other such necessities.

PHILOSOPHY

my philosophy is that philosphy is not my subject. i'm the barack obama of the dancefloor, i don't wanna hear "only this" or "only that," lets have it all and work it all in together. does that make me a liberal?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I guess i'm "new." signed on a while back to see about a place to crash in Marfa, TX. Haven't had a chance to host anyone yet. I think this is a really great thing for people that this exists, its crappy how going places we are so often faced with paying just for a place to sleep and leave our stuff while we go around exploring. If parks had showers...never mind.

Oh, and lately a friend of a friend showed up and ended up sleeping on my couch--i'd never met the guy b4, just biked downtown to meet him.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not to sound selfish, but i do surf my own couch regularly. people say its OK, even great...

me, i'm not such a traveler that i end up on too many couches. maybe i'm gone 3ish weeks/year, mostly @ friends' places where this is part of the deal.

still, homes beat hostels any day!

Interests

woohoo, now i get to talk about myself some more! its amazing how much harder this is than just talking to someone face to face...
ok, so when i go somewhere, you can reliably expect me to seek out the following:
1)good music to dance to. my "mission" to montreal at present is caught up in this.
2)record shops, sometimes. i've gotten pretty good at getting the records to come to me tho...
3)good vegetarian food. i really know how to cook, so this is not as easy as it sounds. i'm like a pro, i scoff at recipes! i'd cook for you if you wanna make that part of our deal...
4)a good french bakery and a good bagel shop. real butter pastry, like the ones in montreal or something...its like someone said about "The Wire": "You can't fake that shit." Period.
5)a nice pub and/or a nice pub that makes really good beer. not a drunk but damn beer is good sometimes. nuff said.
6)public transit. i don't drive. i hate it. gotta bike i can borrow? mine couldn't get thru the metal detector and they had to surgically remove it before i could leave town...

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

there was a night not too long ago when we managed to work an all nite dance party on top of a building roof in and then followed it up with an even later rawk show on a bridge over a river and as the night shrank around us it seemed as we stood caught between these two poles that a swirling shimmer would envelop us and we would be left blind and confused, and so we were...
