ABOUT ME
What was supposed to be a year of teaching in Asia before heading back for grad school has turned into ten. I keep finding new things I want to do and places I want to go.
I taught English at a university in Vietnam for one year, then moved to Singapore to teach English and history at a secondary school. After that I learned scuba diving in the Philippines, took a 3000km bicycle trip across Vietnam, motorbiked through Laos, and studied kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and massage in Thailand.
I've been living in Bangkok for about 7 years now. I ended up studying for an MA in economics at Chulalongkorn University and have been managing a language school for about the past 4 years.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: American Beauty, Aladdin, Eternal Sunshine, Waking Life, Spirited Away, many more
Music: 80s hair rock, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead (my musical background is pretty narrow so I'm really curious to hear yours!)
Books: The Odyssey, The Stories of John Cheever, Faust, Animal Liberation, A Fine Balance, John Steinbeck, The Satanic Verses, way more
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I bought a bicycle in Ho Chi Minh City for 125 dollars and then rode it around Vietnam for about 4 months. After around 3000 kilometers I made it to Hanoi. Luckily I only got 2 flat tires on the whole trip :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach: Swedish massage, the names of most muscles and bones, Tae Kwon Do, Singapore history, political theory, basic photography, Thai, methods and apps for learning new languages
I want to learn: many things, but maybe the most realistic to learn while couchsurfing include vegetarian cooking, yoga, dancing (Latin or Bollywood style)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer good conversation, a sincere curiosity in your life and experience (if you have time to talk about it), and low-maintenance surfing. :)
