About Me

CURRENT MISSION

redesign the economic paradigm to represent humanity and effectively inform policy

ABOUT ME

I see every moment in life as an opportunity to move myself and the world around me toward peace. At the moment, I'm immersed in studies because I see it as an opportunity to change the way we understand the world. And while I love breaking down problems, I'm doing it because I see knowledge as a tool with which we can help people get the physical and emotional basis for improving themselves.

I pour my heart into what i do, because I believe that we have a chance to change ourselves and the world around us for the better.

PHILOSOPHY

look inside. when you are happy with what you see, then try to help the world.

Interests

I'm interested in nearly everything related to understanding people and systems, but I like to focus on a problem or a set of related problems at a time. At the moment, neuroscience, computer science, and economics, but really just about anything.

I also have been doing vipassana for a large chunk of my life now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: For a long time, I looked to movies to try to connect me to experiences and perspectives that I haven't seen before, so my favorites were mostly historical/political movies & documentaries, or movies that reflect internal growth. In America, amores perros, traffic, city of god. But I haven't really watched many movies lately and my tastes are getting a bit more lighthearted.

Books: the mathematician in me likes to try to get my mind around subjects. So I read a lot of policy books to try to understand everything about political subjects. I haven't read much fiction in a while, but when looked for things like Neil Gaiman's Sandman.

Music: Something that's nice to listen to and at least a little intellectually stimulating & I'm happy. Bill Evans, Bjork, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chopin, Bach, Jamiroquai, Neil Young, Eels, Norah Jones, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Tracy Chapman, Eminem, Yo-Yo Ma.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

seeing people overcome their internal hindrances will never cease to be amazing: www.dhamma.org

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to teach: math, vegan cooking, Buddhism, Spanish, Arabic, basic piano, how animals are treated in factory farms, Congress, labor law especially pension policy, refugee law, lots about the Middle East, & grammar. and not so much to teach, but I'd love to share my space for meditation.

To learn from you: who you are, what is important to you, how do you make decisions, what do you know really well, what structures your life, what are you passionate about, what is keeping you from reaching your goals.

Really looking to communicate with wisdom. Looking for someone to help me with that.
