ABOUT ME

We are a happy open minded and openly gay couple, living together since 2003. In 2006 we moved to our romantic, spacious new home, in the green countryside 8km south of Yogyakarta. Wim is a retired Dutch tv journalist, Phillip is a fashion designer and great chef in our home restaurant.

Meeting other gays can be nice, but for sure ányone is welcome - as long as they accept and respect our own partnership and lifestyle. We expect an open mind and have the same. Being frank, liberal and tolerant belongs to our key values. Our motto: Live and Let Live!

SIGHTSEEING:
Yogyakarta is well known for its Kraton (Sultan Palace), the Water Palace, the fortress Vredeburg, the Bird Market, the bustling Malioboro Street, the famous Ramayana Ballet, the Wayang Show (shadow puppets), the Merapi volcano and above all for the World Heritage Landmarks: the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. But making a bicycle or motorbike tour through the farmland and small villages in our rural area can be quite attractive and interesting as well. Sometimes we can assist in making such trip with our car.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live! Treat others like you would like to be treated yourself. And as my late father said: Write your good memories in marble and your bad ones in sand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment we don't really participate: we have no travel plans right now so do not look for couches. And as to hosting we stopped hosting for free since we started a small B & B.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since October 2007 we hosted about 30-40 people (gay and straight, singles and couples).
Three outgoing experiences in Australia, one in France, one in Germany, four in Mexico.
