Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Learn Greek

ABOUT ME

I'm a student, which can mean a lot of things, but for me it means I'm busy a lot and have gotten really good at shooting back and forth between loving a subject and despising it. I'm not especially outgoing, but I enjoy the company of people.

PHILOSOPHY

The zombie apocalypse is coming soon, so we might as well try and enjoy ourselves

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll host people if they need it and hope that others will do the same for me

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had a few people stay with us here in Cairo. I also couchsurfed for a lot of the time that I was in France in winter '08.

Intereses

Just about anything, really. Music, Movies, Books, Traveling, Culture, Candy, Sci-fi, and the list goes on.

Música, películas y libros

Movies: Indiana Jones, The Philidelphia Story, The Rescuers 1 and 2, Lilo and Stitch
Music: The Kaiser Chiefs, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Jonathan Coulton, Oliver Mtukudzi, Blink 182
Books: Anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald or Alexander McCall Smith, Going Solo, Sherlock Holmes books and stories, sci-fi (especially cyberpunk, for those of you who know what that is)

Algo increíble que he hecho

Maybe this is too parochial for Couchsurfing, but I'm gonna have to put hiking the Timberline Trail around Mt. Hood last summer back in my native state of Oregon. It was five days basically on my own in the forests and alpine meadows, and it was a truly profound experience (even when it sleeted and my sleeping bag got soaked)

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I don't know all that much, but there are a few things I could teach. I've got some basic training in a few languages, I just learned all the countries and capitals of Africa (update: I've forgotten many of them), I am a connoisseur of candy, and if you want to learn the hieroglyphic alphabet, I'm your man.

I want to learn pretty much anything you can teach me. I am especially interested in languages and cultures which are not my own, and there's definitely a lot of practical knowledge that I'm ignorant of.
