Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Playing music, living stories, hearing stories, writing them down. Fermenting sugary things into not so sugary things. Also, to find the chupacabra.
ABOUT ME
On a sabbatical from running a hard cider company. Been playing a lot of music with my friends, and getting ready to settle into the next phase. Planning to spend a lot more time tipping ladders in orchards this year, wandering the continental, a lot more nights sleeping under the stars, and a lot more time up against the blank page.
PHILOSOPHY
Tom Waits, freakonomics, chaos, apples, rivers, the essential goodness of people in real life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Being sporratically footloose and occasionally anchored I slingshot, dennis the menace style, back and forth between hospitality and the incredible generosity of others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
People are nicer than bureaucrats, who tell you lies that every one is out to get you, when if fact all they want to do is collaborate, swap stories, floors, spare beds, wisdom, nonsense, kindness and company.
Interests
Fermentation, linguistics, the language of music, of science, bringing chaos to order, because you'll never bring order to chaos (Vonnegut), the glass bead game, renaissance humanity, the tarot, innovation, evolution, devolution, resonance, reading, writing, playing, exploration, instincts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sprinting down a twelve thousand foot peak in the Andes in the wake of a mountain biker named "Timmy the Freak" on a trail made thousands of years ago down into the cloud forest and back up into the fields of maize in the sacred valley. I did this almost every day for a month when I lived in Cusco.
Teach, Learn, Share
Fermentation, anything you can do with apples, playing the washboard, pruning, gardening, basketball, backpacking, pressing cider, making vinegar, booze, syrup, preserves, snaking drains, packing the back of my pickup with ridiculous loads, beekeeping, bullshitting (I am a bullshitter extraordinaire, probably because my initials are B.S), however, I like to call it storytelling.
