关于我
CURRENT MISSION
To become a real writer
ABOUT ME
I'm from Nebraska, the land of rolling prairies in the middle of North America. It's been 8 years since I lived there full time, but it's still the center of my inner mapa mundi, the fixed point around which the rest of the universe turns.
I'm a Christian--grew up Evangelical Protestant, now a Roman Catholic. It's something at the root of who I am, but it's still all very mysterious, confusing, and often frustrating.
I'm a lawyer--sort of. Law is my trade, and I aspire to be excellent at it. But if we're talking about my life's vocation, well, that's still up in the air, but I know that somehow it involves being a writer.
A lot of people tell me I'm older than my years--twenty-seven and counting. Sometimes I feel that way, too. But I also love the goofy, ridiculous, and sarcastic. Recently, I've felt like time is passing quickly by; whenever I tell that to an old person, they say I'm still so young.
There's a way to have strong beliefs and also be non-judgmental (better word: charitable). I know because I've seen it done. I want to be like those people.
PHILOSOPHY
Yikes. I think my "All About Me" section overlaps with what I'd say here.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At this point, I've only ever met up with people for coffee/dinner. I joined back in 2007, but only recently have gone active again. Hope to do more surfing and hosting in the days ahead.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Coffee and dinner with people in New York, DC, and Manila.
兴趣
Interests...I love the idea of the Renaissance Man, and if it fits in that picture somehow (updated to include the past 500 years of history, of course), I'm probably curious about it.

音乐、电影和书籍
I own about roughly seven DVDs. They are: A Man for All Seasons, Babe, Little Women, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Milo & Otis, Batman Begins. I also love It's a Wonderful Life, the Shadowlands, the Music Man, and a number of others.
As for books: Willa Cather, The Thornbirds, Brideshead Revisited, The Power and the Glory, Shakespeare (esp. The Tempest, Hamlet, All's Well that Ends Well, Twelfth Night, As You Like It, and King Lear)...any number of others, too.
