About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Try to live sustainably, ride a bicycle across the US, start a CSA at my family's farm, buy a houseboat and live on the Mississippi..... any and all of the above.

ABOUT ME

I'm an artist and a vegetarian. I recently moved here to Minneapolis and I absolutely love it so far! I was in Seattle for a spell before, and that city is stunningly beautiful... but not quite as lovable as the MPLS.

Right now I am hard at work towards one of my missions: ride a bicycle across the US. So HANNAH and I are off on our next big adventure (she used to be the better half of this profile) We're trying to spread the word that cycling is fun, healthy, earth-friendly, and totally plausible transport!

so... JOIN THE CYCLE and check out our website at http://www.JoinTheCycle.com/ don't miss the stories on our blog... and if you're inspired, sign the pledge to bike more!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

okay... Couch surfing is all about MOROCCO. well sure, not morocco in particular, but the idea of it.

Two young american girls wondering around northern Africa and staying with strangers sounds like my mother's nightmare. But actually it was quite possibly the best time of my life. And it was all thanks to couchsurfing, and the wonderful friends I made in Morooco. (who I hope to see again soon, Inshallah!)

Hannah and I were able to see and do the most amazing things (most of all get a picture of real Moroccan life) all because of our wonderful hosts.

So what I mean is that as an american, couchsurfing around the US is a fun and interesting way to travel, but I think that couchsurfing is really about getting a window into a life that you would otherwise never understand. Getting a chance to experience a place like a local where you would otherwise be seen as a lost tourist from a mile away.

Interests

We are art people! Casey and I (Hannah) studied ceramics together and both share an interest in sculpture and design. I also create a lot of paper-based work--book arts, illustration, and painting. Casey is also multitalented-designing and producing ceramic tableware, and working in the faux-finishing world.

We both like music, food (cooking and eating it), movies--simple pleasures. We are mostly vegetarian, and would love to prepare a fun vegetarian or even vegan meal for you. It's good stuff!
