CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to figure out how to be able to travel around the world and get paid for doing what I love to do. Which is being in the outdoors, traveling, taking photos and generally enjoying life.

ABOUT ME

I love travelling and hiking and meeting people and anything outdoors. I really enjoy socializing and having a great time with people. I am really passionate about the environment and have been extensively involved with designing and selling renewable energy systems.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living life to the fullest. I always try to look for the best in people. Life is about having fun and being free.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had people from England and Korea and countless friends stay with my wife and I while we were living in New Zealand. We also had a couple of German girls stay with us while we lived in Korea. I hope to do the same when I get back to NZ. We are currently travelling around New Zealand Housesitting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, I have had people stay on my couch from the UK, Korea and Germany but this was before I heard about Couch Surfing.

I am interested in different countries and in meeting people from all over the world. I love the environment, hiking, sailing and most outdoor activities.

The Lord of the Rings, the Usual suspects, American beauty, Blood Diamond.

I like the Strokes, Muse, U2, Coldplay, Kasbian, Massive Attack, Morecheeba, Fat Freddy's Drop, Crowded House etc.

My favourite books are the Alchemist, Celestine Prophecy, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Conversations with God, The 4 hour work week

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My wife and I were the first English teachers in Hua Xian, China. We spent five months teaching in this little village in central China near Xian. We were welcomed into the town with open arms and tremendous hospitality. We made wonderful friendships and got to experience incredible food and an amazing culture. We managed to learn enough Chinese to be able to travel independently for a few months throughout China on the completion of our teaching contract.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little about teaching in Asia. I can teach you how to order a beer in Korean and Chinese. I know a little about renewable energy and maybe I can teach you something about that. Currently my wife and I are getting an online business established, we may be able to teach you about online marketing.

I love learning languages and I try my best to pick up some of the language of the countries that I visit.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you are wanting to visit New Zealand at some stage I have traveled extensively throughout the country and can give you excellent advice about places to visit and great activities to do.

I can cook a decent steak and I am improving on the cooking front.
