About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Try to contribute my little part to make the world a little bit better and fairer.

ABOUT ME

I'm a vey curious person and always try to find and figure out everything. I'm passionate about international development and global sustainability. I love to learn and to teach and enjoy to work together with others and share this experience. I became used to live in big cities and love their international flavor. But I still miss nature sometimes and need to get out. I might sometimes drive people crazy for being hyperorganized and systematic, but then again get chosen to organize. And sometimes I just get silly/ crazy ideas and try to convince my friends to put them into practice.

PHILOSOPHY

State your own opinion, don't adjust just to be opportunistic, speak out if you think something is going wrong, act against injustices, but also accept others' opinions and beliefs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travelled to Marseille with two friends from Paris. We surfed a couch of three great students living in Marseille who were very welcoming and gave us lots of great tips to discover the city. We shared some nice meals and conversation.

Interests

I enjoy doing sports, especially outdoors (running, yoga, biking, hiking, swimming),reading, meeting my friends to go out or share dinners at home, and - of course - travelling and discovering new places, close and far. I also like to discuss with people about any imaginable topic if they are interested and passionate about it. I'm passionate about anything that has to do with international development, global sustainability and applied micro-econometrics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snorkeling before Kenya's coast in cristal clear water. Standing at the ridge, flying over and hiking into the Grand Canyon. Seeing the Kliminjaro glow in the evening from Amboseli N.P., Kenya. Observing the migration in the Masai Mara. Walking along the empty wide beaches of Zanzibar. Seeing Montreal for the first time from the top of Mount Royal after a running up there. All very impressive experiences that I will not forget. But also the little experiences will stay in my memory, like talking Swahili with a spice shop owner in Zanzibar's old town with my only rudimental Swahili knowledge. Or meeting super friendly people in Australia who helped us out when we were in trouble...

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy teaching and seeing how others understand something I explained. I also love to learn myself. Especially from good teachers. My main interest is international development. But I also enjoy learning about how your brain works, why a plane flies or what's behind our use of language. And languages themselves. I love use a variety of media to learn: online news(papers), podcasts (NBR), TedTalks, online courses, documentaries..
