About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Follow my feet.

ABOUT ME

Having grown up flying across the globe, I got stuck with the constant feeling that I need to be somewhere else. Still, raised mostly in Belgium, this is where I keep coming back to.

I lived in Saigon and in Amsterdam for a while - both for studying purposes.
I spent a year in Australia to travel, work and see some kangaroos. Then spent another year in The Hague just because I did.

I'm really not the person to put in big groups singing-around-the-campfire style. But when comfortable with my company, I can be pretty outgoing and talkative. Always easy going and up for some mischief.

A few of my favorite things are: large breakfasts, being squashed against my seat when the airplane is taking off, the smell of rain after a very warm day, driving (and getting lost) and kungfu movies.
I like to know how stuff works, asking questions and people who explain well. My favorite Beatle is George.

And I'm loving the ways life works, including all the crap that comes with it. Everyday is a surprise, and sometimes those come with ice cream.
I've struggled a lot with life and how to live it, but I've learned to be vulnerable and to be grateful and I do believe this is where the road to happiness begins.

PHILOSOPHY

Every bad day is a good day if I can learn something new and be a bigger person tomorrow. Every experience is an opportunity for growth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few people in my little flat in Antwerp. I liked showing them around and taking them out for drinks with my friends.
When traveling, I find that CS meetings are an great way to meet like-minded people and have a good time when you don't know where to go. Getting to talk to people at these events is a lot easier than I thought it would be. These meetings and the people I met, have become such an important part of my travels, I can't imagine it would be any fun without them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Tripp and Adam from Chapel Hill stayed with me for a few days while looking for the living remains of a Van Gogh painting. Daniel stayed the night of the CS 2009 NY's party. I hosted Ronja while she looked for an apartment in Antwerp. And Roeland on his passing through.
Met some truly amazing people from all over the globe, surfing around Australia.

And countless wonderful and less wonderful meetings, thank you CS!
