About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep one foot out of my comfort zone at all times!

ABOUT ME

I'm living in Squamish to climb, hike, and spend some much needed time playing outside. I'm pretty transient right now

PHILOSOPHY

If it scares you, makes you laugh, or makes you have to pee yourself so you're so excited, then do it as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When you're in a rut, sometimes the only thing that can change your life is traveling. Not having the money isn't a good enough reason to stay in a rut, and I believe that the CS2 project is the most fabulous thing I've heard about in ages. I'm hoping to head out ASAP and crash on someone's couch, and to provide the same opportunity for others. Huzzah!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only been able to host one CSer because of moving around all the time, but I've surfed with a few people in Toronto and Victoria, and have met oodles of people through the Toronto CS group.

Interests

Climbing, impromptu trips, reading, comic books, learning new skills/hobbies (i.e. climbing, aid climbing, I'm hoping to learn how to ski this winter, snowshoeing...I totally want to try some alpine climbing, or anything where I can learn to self-arrete with an ice axe! There's oodles of stuff I want to learn about playing outside), live music in dive bars, writing in cafes with good, black coffee...

Music, Movies, and Books

Blues, old trip-hop from the 1990's, some new stuff like Beirut and Beck, but mostly anything.

Books...most of Nick Hornby's stuff, same with Chuck Palahniuk, I just read some of Charlaine Harris's smutty vampire series, and that was pretty rad. Definitely Chuck Klosterman, or Augusten Burroughs. Ooh, and Anna Camilerri, and Ivan E Coyote, and Dan Savage. Some Hemingway, but not always. And any of the Brian K Vaughan comics. In fact, ALL of his comics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Provided a safe space for some bad-ass, radical burlesque (and all of the discussion that went with it).

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty new climber, but I can take you climbing for the first time, or find more experienced climbers to go with. I love cooking with people, and can make some pretty kick-ass veggie dishes. I always know where the good cafes are, and tend to scour the city for those awesome pockets of sub-culture, so I usually have some decent suggestions of stuff to do when you're visiting.
