Overview
About Me
We are passionate about life. We try to go through it without too much luggage. We don’t like weights that attach us to a place. We feel a citizens of the world; of this unjust, blind, chaotic and hectic planet earth. We have got many questions unanswered and that keeps us searching. We enjoy travelling a lot; it helps us to realise how similar we are: same doubts, same behaviours, same beliefs, same systems. We disagree with fixed patterns. We support freedom of speech. We believe human nature is not evil but kind. We take nothing for granted. We am thankful to life, to our upbringing and to the challenges we’ve had that only makes us grow stronger. Have a nice day, eat plenty fruit and veg, smile regularly and go ahead and search for that “once in a life time” opportunity waiting for you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love the philosophy behind CS. It's amazing how it brings people together in so many ways. It allows us to tap into the culture of a place and its people. It create bridges were there are walls. It creates strong bonds between us.
Our CS experiences have all been great. It's so reassuring to know that there's a safe place to arrive to and a friendly host to lend you a helping hand if you are in trouble.
Interests
We are trying to be as sustainable as possible. We love cycling, recycling and freecycling. We try to depend the least possible on the system as we don't believe consumerism is the way forward.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The WNBR in London 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. Cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats in 2008 (1400 kms, 400 training hours, 15 days), cycling the Camino to Santiago de Compostela (1000 kms), cycling around the UK (6000 miles for 5 months). Sonia jumped from an airplane.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: we like playing around with our bicycles so feel confident with basic bike maintenance and repairs (punctures, chains, replacing brake pads and wires, etc.)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Calu creates and co-creates spaces for connection, from rituals to homemade entertainment. She's a resourceful vegan cook, an intuitive bodyworker, an artist... basically a curious soul. Sonia holds women circles, is into long distance cycling, travels often to Colombia and is about to start a course on Gestalt counselling.
