About Me
I just looked at my profile and it was old! Written in '08 or '09 during the height of the recession. I had spent many years living in Copenhagen and then in Spain and was just back in the states. I was looking or a new career and wasn't sure what that would be...
now -- helping to raise a new baby, working on energy efficiency, biking over the GG bridge most days to get there and stopping to swim in the Bay along the way. I don't travel much these days, but my life feels rich. Happy to show travelers my City (or rather the rural areas north of it) and share my houseboat for a bit. Can't always host, but looking forward to the Occassional visitor.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had some fantastic couchsurfing experiences back in '07/'08. Now days I often airbnb my house when I'm away -- and make money, of course. but it occurred to me that occasionally I'd like to help folks out who are traveling cheap or can't afford a place... and honestly, I love the company, a good meal, the chance to share a moment with an interesting person and to help them on their journey.
Interests
Biking or walking around town, cooking, eating, playing guitar, dancing, good conversation, swimming in rivers, lakes and the ocean, hiking, looking for mushrooms...

Music, Movies, and Books
Recently I have read Shantaram, The Fortress of Solitude, The Truth about the Savolta Case, and The Plot against America...all good. Shantaram just blew me away. I suspect many couch-surfers would find it an incredible book.
My musical tastes are eclectic, but don't expect me to know your average pop-song.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love geography. If you hang out with me, expect to learn something about the city and its history, its social dynamics, etc.
