About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I too believe in a better world and therefore I'm opening my heart, mind and house

ABOUT ME

I still haven't figured out what I want to do with my life. I've already worked out multiple scenarios in my mind, but first I have to stick this on out. I am currently studying at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels and in 2009 I will graduate. What I'm going to do next is a big question mark. Will I stay in Belgium and complete my military service or will I move to a civilian occupation? OR will I leave the country and build something up elsewhere? Because my studies don't allow me to stay abroad for long stretches of time Couch Surfing® is the perfect way for me to get in contact with people from different cultures and get to know those culture and there specific way of life and thinking. Who knows, I might find out what I want to do with the rest of my life thanks to Couch Surfing®.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to lead a healthy and sportive life style, combined with academical challenges. I am always open for different experiences as long as nobody gets hurt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to participate in an active way to the CS2 project. But what does that entail? It means that I would love to accommodate people in my modest house. I guess the main problem is that people only know Brussels and Antwerp in Belgium and, like 99.99% of the people in the world, never heard of Diest. It's not the most exciting city in the world. But that can Diest offer you. It's simply beautiful in summertime. You can swim in nice clean pools and lay on white sandy beaches and enjoy the rich cultural and historical sites. If you get tired of Diest (and this is the main advantage) you get on the train and in 50 minutes you are in Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the capital of Europe. In 50 minutes you can be in Antwerp and in 45 minutes you can be in Maastricht, Holland.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a new member, so my first CS2 experience has yet to be experienced, but I promise that I will keep you posted.

Interests

My interests are widely spread. I like and I am able to talk about anything worth mentioning. The biggest part of my days I spend studying, doing sports, reading the news paper, hanging out with my friends and trying to maintain a vast social network I managed to gather over the years.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can enjoy about everything that has been filmed, written and sung, it just needs to be original and high quality.

Teach, Learn, Share

Like I said before in a previous paragraph, I am a student in a military university so this gives me another perspective in geopolitical situations. I also like doing sports, we might go for a run or a swim together. But above all, I am Flemish, and that means that I like to enjoy life. Good food, good drinks, nice people and cool locations are important for me and I want to share that with you.
