About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To balance the things that come with routine (skill, being grounded, honesty) with the things that come with spontaneous adventure (fresh perspective, hanging out with YOU).
ABOUT ME
You will find me: In museums and galleries, snooping after street art, writing, writing, writing, at local concerts, cooking with friends, talking to nutty bums, at independent film screenings, peace rallies, diversity discussions, climbing buildings, exploring tunnels, making movies, and very often riding my bike. When you can't find me it's because I'm out of the country, curled up reading a book, or wrenching on a bicycle.
I'm all about experiences outside of the typical costly and circular pursuits that people generally consider a good time. You will rarely find me in clubs, restaurants, or spending more than $5 on a drink in my own environment. At home I am frugal and low-impact, living off of as little as possible to save up for adventures and artistic pursuits.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I take any excuse to learn more about other people, so naturally I love travelling through couchsurfing and getting to see other people's worlds. In Salt Lake I am happy to host from time to time and come out to Couchsurfing-related projects and goings-ons.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing has been a mainstay in my life, meetups and extended travel and idea sharing. I did a two month bike trip staying exclusively with couchsurfers in Europe and used Couchsurfing to connect with interested visitors when I was living in the West Bank.
Interests
Art, learning something new from you, stepping outside my perspective, being awestruck or confounded by what I experience. In that vein, I like:
Learning languages, even a word or two that I'll promptly forget.
Independent travel, meaning traveling on your own, or under you own power, bikes and motorcycles have been a huge interest of mine, as well as long sojourns into the unfamiliar.
Music, dance, literature, images, the lyrical and obscene. Poetry and dance that is unselfconscious or unexpected, the sublime of the streetcorner. I love the busker, the tag, the stencil, but I can get lost in the studied and theatrical performances of Hollywood or institutionalized dance if the movement's right. Movements like nailing a perfect apex on a motorcycle or slaloming silently through the night on a bicycle are dance to me as well, I see very little distinction between different action groups. Thus I love to bicycle, climb, ski, longboard, but I'll also twirl, roll, spin and jump. Yoga's good. Singing's good. Life is good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm annoyed with this question, because I'm typically fairly modest about travelbragging and couchsurfing is making me fill this section out.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to true a bike wheel and how to make a stencil. I can show you how to live out of dumpsters and diffuse an angry situation. I can help you tell stories, and make things happen that you want to see in your life, if you need an extra mind on the subject.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to make dinner for you, write you a short story, or go on adventures with you.
