About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore, Learn, Live!

ABOUT ME

I dedicate my life to the protection of the environment, and therefore, the living beings on it. I have had the chance to observe from very close the rich biodiversity of many different ecosystems, and realized what a blessing it's been to be a witness of such beauty.

I have learned a lot from my travelling experiences, not just languages, but simple things of life that shape who I am today. I would describe myself as opened minded, flexible and easy-going.

I'm a person who enjoys small good things of life. Humour, smiles, great conversations, shared meals and reggae music !

I believe a lot in life is about perceptions, and since a given situation can be either the best or the worst one, I try to see things on the positive side. And if not, well let's just learn from the Chinese word tomorrow : "ming tian" which literally means bright sky, or more appropriately day

PHILOSOPHY

Things happen for the best, and you can always turn something seemingly negative in something good for you! It's just a matter of perception!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in Couchsurfing in offering people my couch whenever I have a place to do so. So far, I haven't had many couchsurfing friendly places, so the future of hosting is still bright!

I initiated a lot of people to CS. The young think it's cool, the old don't get it at all, but all in all, everyone gets closer to opening their doors to strangers and making the world a better place!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed a bit around the world, and it's always an amazing experience. It's as fun to meet locals as it is to hang out with other expats and see the city through their eyes. I feel like it's a much more eco-friendly and eye-opening way of travel. To me, the sense of the trip is given by the people we meet mostly, and the exchanges that we get from them, more so than just hiking big tough moutains that are rewarding but in a such different way!

Special thanks to all of those who hosted me, treated me like one of theirs, and same for all the future ones who will give me the same treatment!

Interests

I'm a nature lover and enjoy getting out there. That makes me keen on camping, hiking, and other stuff life fishing or grasshopper hunting (they are the best protein you'll get!)

I love to think I can have a positive impact on the Earth, whether it's for protecting the beauty and fragility of the environment, or inspiring someone to pursue that same goal!

Music, Movies, and Books

Back to the Future is obviously the best trilogy in the world. Anyone doubting ?!

Ok Lord of the Rings is awesome too !
And for music, it's reggae reggae, and reggae!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Is sewing its own prom suit amazing when you had never taken any sewing lesson ? I don't know ! It was hard though, thats all I know !
I lit up a cigarette on lava flow in Guatemala and planted 186 000 trees in two summers in Alberta (but hey, small trees uh)

Teach, Learn, Share

I taught English in China for a year and enjoyed it a lot. I'm currently going through the slow process of learning Chinese, and if anyone wants to give me a hand with that I'll be more than happy! I guess I like languages and sharing the cultural part of it!

Countries I’ve Visited

Barbados, Canada, China, Ecuador, France, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, United States, Viet Nam
