About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep away from the merry dance of death and trade

ABOUT ME

I'm clean and polite and so on.

PHILOSOPHY

I generally don't have a clue, but am perfectly okay with that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Rumour has it that I'm quite hospitable (unless personal catastrophes have just happened or are happening at the time of asking).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think it's a fantastic idea and I've benefited many times, in Sicily, Ireland, Poland, etcetera. Hosted quite a lot as well, mostly wonderful people from all around the world.

Interests

I can be equally passionate about doing something than about sitting on the roof and staring and trying not to move. My more active interests include: going to bars or coffee houses with my friends (number one on my list of favourite things ever); establishing a worldwide network of friends, so that I can travel without being a tourist; and playing football on weekends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some would say I read an unhealthy amount of letters daily. Favorite authors come and go, but some do linger around (Kundera, Hrabal, Gombrowicz, Gogol, Salinger, Geoff Dyer, Wittgenstein, Thomas Bernhard, the Beats et al). I am also an article addict.

As for movies: from Woody Allen to whichever director whose name starts with a Z. Tarkovsky, Bergman, Fellini and other big guys like that have my eternal love and respect. One of the last films I saw and adored: The General by Buster Keaton!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Roadtrip in the USA with my brother (New York to New Orleans) was nothing if not epic. Hiking in Georgia (the former Soviet one) deserved the qualification 'amazing' as well. As a student, I spent a good six months in beautiful Prague. And in 2018, I climbed two mountains in the Peruvian Andes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany
