Ale w kazdym razie zawsze znajduje jaki sposòb zeby spedzic 2-3 mcy rocznie - w 'niecholernym zimnym' sezonie - w Krakowie (zajebyste miasto)...wiec powinienem ćwiczyć mój polski! :)

ABOUT ME

Outgoing, Exuberant, Talkative* (sometimes maybe too much): Freedom (exterior, but above all interior) comes for me always first, since it's the best paint to colour the picture of our lives, that otherwise would remain black & white!

I normally connect easily with sociable, outgoing persons, but there are also shy and introverted people among my close friends: I am open to everyone who's respectful and has sth to share :D .

*VERY IMPORTANT: sometimes I talk very very much (but I also like to listen carefully to what people tell me :D). I just talk a little bit less in russian because - unfortunately - I am not still fluent in it :) .
It's not unusual for southern italian and latin people to be talkative, but I ensure you that I am way above the average :D : so if you really don't feel comfortable with super-talkative persons, I would kindly ask you not to contact me or to ignore/refuse my requests.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As now (january 2015) I'm a quite a newbie here: I started my CS experience by taking part in an amazing international CS Camping in southern Tuscany, hanging out with & showing the others the non-touristic side of Florence, and eventually hosting (unfortunately I can host only 10/15% of the Year) a few wonderful Surfers!

1st UPDATE (april 2015)...I accumulated some extra-experience, including the attendance to 3 meetings with the ambassadors of CS Firenze to organize some very important event. I also created a fb-group specifically aimed at debating on flags and gender issues. I don't consider myself a CS newbie anymore, but surely I've got so much left to learn and experience...and I am eager to do it :D
2nd UPDATE (may 2016)...Well, I am definitely no newbie anymore :) ...I did not host so many people because I am often abroad or with extra-CS people at home. But I spent a semester in Krakòw (Poland), and I also attended a lot of CS-meetings there...CS-Krakòw is really great!!
3rd UPDATE (oct 2018)..I've been living abroad in Spain and Poland in the last months, and I wasn't allowed to host...hope to start over again :)

****SEX and COUCHSURFING****

Since, as a criminal law scholar & lawyer (3 years), I dedicated my last 15 years chiefly to investigate legal and sociological means to contrast VAW (Violence Against Women) - and I am also writing a blog on the issue, see above under "My Interests/ Blogging" - I have a very clear position on the biggest CS problem: the use of Couchsurfing as Dating/Sexual encounter website (particularly in some countries, like mine).

FIRSTLY, more than 50% of the female surfers I met told me that - at least once - their male host tried to kiss them without any reasonable ground for doing it. In one case, the perpetrator didn't stop even after repeatead NOs from the girl, and touched her badly (every judge of the world would legally deem it "Attempted Rape/Sexual Assault"). I strongly recommend victims to report to the CS security team those awful episodes, and in case he goes beyond the simple "attempt to kiss", also to report him to the police.

SECONDLY, I think that, in general, it's not against the CS spirit to have - more or less romantic - sexual relationships with other CS members.
Moreover, I think passionate carnal relationships are the strongest and most emotional expressions of the CS idea of connecting and joining together the World: mutual consensual Sex is beautiful, and what's more amazing than SHARING love, if both parties enjoy it?

THIRDLY, I conversely consider to be strongly AGAINST the CS spirit:

1-Using CS only as a 'worldwide' tool to get Sex, without offering anything else to the surfer/host you are interacting with.
This happens, for example, when an host makes repeated sexual proposals to a surfer before even meeting her, or he last minute tells her the only couch available is next to him, or even when an host persistently insists to convince an unwilling girl to heavily drink (alcohol, of course).

2-Making unrespectful and/or repeatead (afted she declined) sexual proposals, without establishing any empathy with the other. If she says once that she doesn't want to sleep with you, just BACK OFF!

3-Thinking that surfers have an "unwritten moral duty" to compensate free hospitality with sex: that's really absurd and against women's dignity...and btw, CS has indeed converted itself into a profitable organization, but not into an escort agency !

EVENTUALLY, here's my CS factual "empathy-oriented" basic rules of conduct if there is a unilateral sexual interest:

A) If a male surfer/host explicitly asks for sex I consider it - even not legally - a slight form of harassment towards the other. The latter would probably feel uncomfortable.

B) In a 100% "Gender Equality" perspective, it would be the same, were it a female surfer/host the one asking for sex..
...but 1) it happens 10/20 times less; 2) 95/98% of males - even declining the proposal - wouldn't feel uncomfortable with it.

C) In my opinion, male surfers/hosts should try a sexual approach ONLY IF she sends them - verbally or non verbally - clear, direct and unequivocal signals of sexual interest.
Unfortunately, most men aren't capable of distinguishing "friendzone" signals from sexual attraction signals...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surely the meeting with Timotei Rad, an Academic researcher and Blogger from Romania who is travelling all over the world doing hitchhiking: has already been in 57 States, riding more than 120.000km )with a budget of 180euros per month), getting to the extreme north-east of Siberia, and meeting the Taliban warriors in Afghanistan. He taught me that "The worst enemy is often yourself", meaning that we've got to cross our personal limits in every moment to catch the best of our life!
