for meeting people: more sitting around and having a coffee or beer and interesting conversations than going out for drink & dance & party all night.

in nature: more hiking, cross-country-skiing and canoeing than alpine skiing, mountainbiking or white-water kayaking.

in towns: more walking around being led by instinct to get a feel for the place than searching for specific buildings with the help of the city map.

surfing, hosting, meeting people for coffee, lunch or dinner, giving advice to people planning a trip to Austria or other countries I know, organize and participate in language evenings

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our home was open to visitors since ever so I kind of grew up with the couchsurfing spirit. hosted and surfed a lot, though in the last years this got less and less.

Interests

I read so much before, but in the last time am mostly too tired in the evenings - and what I really read every day is a newspaper...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The petroglyphs in the kyrgyz mountains were one of the most impressing things I've ever seen.
The oil industry in ecuador and the connections to local people - and to be inside all that from one moment to the other - was one of the most exciting - and disturbing - things I've ever experienced.
But the most beautiful moments are always when you see your true friends, or also when you meet someone new and feel like you would have known them since ages :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a couple of languages if you want, and an optimistic attitude towards everything...
What I would like to learn is more about photography, so my pix get better and I can use all the functions of my camera to make the best of it!
