About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Spend time with friends and seeing new places, not sorting out s41t.
ABOUT ME
Have always worked for myself or small companies that I was involved with. I like to be independent but I am also respectful of others. I guess I just never liked conforming to silly arbitrary rules.
PHILOSOPHY
Having a good time, leaving the place a bit better than I found it (whether this is your apartment/home or the planet).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to proselytize CS to ever decent soul I encounter, as the bigger it gets, the better. I made a small donation to get myself verified. I have surfed quite a bit in Australia and China, and its been fantastic. I try to find a way to show my appreciation to my hosts. I wish I could host (beyond showing people around my home in New York), but I am living with my parent's now as I plan to move to Beijing in the coming months. Hopefully, once I get settled, I'll be able to host CS's myself and give back in a more tangible way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In the two years since I have been a member it has been excellent so far. At "worst", it has been brief but pleasant chance to meet someone new for a few days, but at best, it has been a chance to make some truly good friends and learn more about people and a culture than I could had I stayed at a budget hotel. It is just so much better than hotel. Look forward to my next chance to use Coach Surfing - this summer!
Interests
Travel, sports, friends, music, hiking and I guess I am a bit of a geek too, so computers and the internet. I am have taken an interest into the Chinese language and culture. Trying to learn Mandarin, but I am still a beginner. While I took a teaching course as a way to make some cash while living abroad, it's really nice to be able to help someone that is motivated to better themselves and learn new things. Teaching is hard word, not so great paying, but so far, quite rewarding.

Music, Movies, and Books
Sci-Fi, adventure, mystery. Rock and Roll. When I venture outside of my "rock" musical base, I find myself truly impressed by some of the talents outside of the genre. My last musical obsession was for Aretha Franklin after hearing her amazing super human vocal talents from the Blues Brothers movie. I am gonna miss high speed access to youtube and other websites that are not always easy to access from China.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Exploring the caves of Belize. I am still amazed that I was able to get in and out of the smallest cracks in the rocks to get from one chamber to the next. Gave me a chance to see centuries of natural and human history first hand.
Teach, Learn, Share
Getting a good deal on things. I am an expert on finding bargains. This does not mean cheap always, it means good value. Also, while I am more Macintosh orientated than Windows, I can help folks with basic problems, or help set up a WIFI network at your place. I have a CELTA for teaching English, so if you wanted to have some casual lessons or conversation while I am staying with you, I can offer you that as well.
