ABOUT ME

I was born in California, and my family moved to Washington when I was seven and I have lived there until the winter of 2010, when I moved to San Francisco. I travelled around for about five months before settling in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam about a year and a half ago. I just moved to Tokyo.

I am a true U.S. west coast native. I love cooking, reading, visiting museums, and being outdoors. I love doing anything where you have an opportunity to create, collage, sculpture, painting, drawing, music... I am a graphic designer who quit their job to pursue higher education and a different way of life. I am extremely open-minded and enjoy meeting all kinds of people. Currently I am freelancing and trying to figure out what my next steps are.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life with belief that I am in control of my own destiny. I have nothing but love and respect for all people. We all have something to learn from every experience in life and we never stop learning.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couch-surfed with wonderful people, and as soon as I have a couch again (I just moved to Tokyo) I will lend my couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch-surfed, and I have lent space to travelers, though not through couchsurfing. I stayed with such generous, amazing people, and I want share as well! I made great friends, and had lots of good times!

Interests

Art (making and viewing), music, learning about any subject under the sun, fashion, having a good time, and doing all I can to make this world a better place! Being outside, yoga, fitness, cooking, making things with my own two hands, and traveling! I love reading and learning new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite kinds of music are rock and blues (usually older music) but I also enjoy anything from hip hop to folk and jazz, particularly female singers and musicians.I enjoy movies and books that I may learn something interesting from. Books: anything by George Orwell, Brave New World, books on philosophy, economics, health, too many to list...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the Fondation Cartier in Paris, I met Patti Smith at her exhibition because she started taking photos of me without my knowing. She is one of my heroes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like art of all kinds, including contemporary and activist. I love to learn about new and different cultures, hobbies and interests. I know quite a lot about food and health.
