ABOUT ME
I am a student of life and citizen of the world trying to learn, live, laugh, love and experience more every day. I recently graduated from college with my BA in Cultural Anthropology and will be attending grad school in the fall. In the interim I'm doing some adventuring. Back to the motherland of India for some adventuring, to Israel to visit some amazing friends and get my acrobat on, and then to Egypt for an Arabic Language Intensive at the American University of Cairo. It's all happening.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is my life. Regina Spektor is the most amazingly talented vocalist to grace the earth. Other that that I'm kinda all over the place, there's a time and place for just about anything. I love Simon and Garfunkel and the Beatles. Electronica, techno, drum and bass, and trance have a special place in my heart as well.
I like books. A lot. I'm what some people call a bookworm. Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. Infidel and Nomad by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Desert Flower by Waris Dirie. Dragon Fighter by Rebiya Kadeer. A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier. The Space Between Us. Metamorphasis. Cyrano de Bergerac. I'm a sucker for travel books and ethnographies. I could sit down and read any country's Lonley Planet and entertain myself for hours.
The Graduate. Garden State. Science of Sleep. Across the Universe. Tristan + Isolde. Rent. Phantom of the Opera. Chak de! India. Running with Scissors. A Clockwork Orange. You, Me, and Everyone We Know. Saawariya. Argo. Trishna. Fix.
Any foreign film or documentary. Extra points for foreign documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After high school the thought of jumping right into 4 more years of schooling scared me shitless. So I said to hell with it and jumped on a plane to India instead where I spent three months in New Delhi working for Mobile Creches, a local NGO that provides schooling and daycare services to the children of migrant construction workers. After that I spent the next six months backpacking around India and Sri Lanka and even managed to get over to Malaysia and Thailand for a few weeks at the end. Between hammock surfing around the south cost of Sri Lanka, living for three weeks in tree houses we built in the jungle of the Andaman Islands, and being in a bollywood movie, not to mention all the amazing people I was so lucky to meet, it was definitely the most incredible experience of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook literally hundreds of dishes. Italian (especially Southern Italian/Sicilian- from my mama), Indian, Sri Lankan, and Mediterranean/North African are my specialties. I'm love inventing and creating new dishes too. Teach me your favorites, I'll teach you mine!
I love teaching/learning/sharing acroyoga. Whether you're an pro or have no idea what the word acroyoga means it's probably THE most amazing thing to share with anyone.
I'm fascinated by language. Any bit of any language you know- I want to learn it!
I'd love to share some music with you. I'm pretty terrible on the guitar and the piano but I'm good with my vocal chords. Harmonizing is my jam. Even if it's just to the radio.
