ABOUT ME
I'm Mumbai/Bombay bred and based. After working as a sketch comedy writer in television, I directed my first film, a slacker comedy, Sulemani Keeda (International title: Writers) which is doing the international festival rounds now. Besides film, I am interested in mythology and history. I am a slow traveler. I'm not big on planning and I love learning. My other joy is volunteering and working with children. I have worked in shelters in my city as a weekend volunteer. I love pets. I like sketching and politics too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted several Couchsurfers at my family house in the center of the city. I have lived with a host in Cambodia, whom I had the good fortune of hosting a year later when she visited India. We are still very good friends. I have hung out with couchsurfers in Vietnam and USA- where I spent a semester studying in 2009. I have been hosted by a wonderful brother-sister duo in Paris.

Music, Movies, and Books
Werner Herzog's "Aguirre: The Wrath of God" is my all time favourite film. I'm a big fan of the American independent scene- mostly mumblecore. Love Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach. I'm big on the Indian cinema of the 70's and 80's- particularly the arty ones. Though I must admit I haven't watched any Bengali films other than Satyajit Ray. I also love documentaries.
Books- 1984 and Animal Farm, short stories of Don Barthelme, add some
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After a blizzard in the night, we camped in a pitch dark area outside McLeodganj (India). In the morning, when we came out of the tent, there was a snow clad mountain peak right in front of us. It was just 100 meters away and tapering skywards. It was divine!
