ABOUT ME

My name is Joe Shields. I live in the beautiful countryside of Devon.
I am a film maker, a cyclist, a physicist, teacher and I do acrobatics! Recently I have been running a project building with straw bales and have built a reciprocal roof roundhouse and several geodesic domes.
These are the things I enjoy. I run a film, video and media group called the WASProject and I cycle to get places, I just love my bike!

Trying to be a better person.. I guess...
I'm Vegetarian and Vegan from time to time (I should really be vegan all the time)
I eat Bananas

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer a place to stay, I love this house I want to share it with as many good people as I can.
I would love to be able to meet some fellow couchsurfers and surf myself!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have had about 32 couch surfers to date!
I have Couch Surfed in Bergen, with two friends, which was really nice.
I almost did in Zambia, but I got too busy...
Cycled with a couple of friends down to Barcelona and stayed with more couchsurfers.. so accomodating :)
Cycled alone through Sweden, but I wasn't really alone because I managed to stay with couchsurfers almost every night!
And then summer 2011 I cycled down to Prague and then through Germany and Switzerland to France to visit some friends and volunteer at an international camp.
I have had lots of couchsurfers to stay but I live in the middle of nowhere in Devon so don't always get a lot of requests, and I have had a few people to stay in Oxford too..
Did a small amount of couch surfing in Tanzania.
Couchsurfing has been great!
I can't wait for the next experience!

Intereses

Film and Animation, Cycling, Acrobatic Tricking, Physics, Peoples, Travel and all the things intailed. I am interested in permaculture and all sorts of natural building techniques.
I'm interested in a ton of stuff.. like how they make celotape blue.

I cycled from England to Prague in 4 days! Had a great time and met some wonderful couchsurfers on the way.

Going through this life I hope to pick up as much information and skills as I can. I know things about
Film Making, Cycling, Bikes, Photography, natural building, how to do a backflip. I could (try to) explain general relativity if you wanted or teach juggling!
