About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Oceans, education, climate, puppies, jazz.

ABOUT ME

Biked Texas-Panama. Hitched almost every country in Europe. Lived and traveled all over S. America.

Got shot at in Paraguay, robbed in Nicaragua, skipped over landmines in Croatia, worked with wolves in NewMex.

I make pictures and videos. I fix your bike. I drive boats. I'm a scientist. I'm a human ecologist.

Music, Movies, and Books

Daniel Quinn seriously shifted my worldview while in junior high, and I've been actively working to make my presence count ever since.

After taking a very Kerouac trip hitchhiking and rucksack wandering, a friend suggested I pick up The Dharma Bums. Now it's a favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Costa Rica, east of San Jose, is a mountain called el cerro de la muerte, the mountain of death. I took a wrong turn and ended up taking the route across the country that went right up and over this mountain and it was the most trying experience of my life. For three days I rode my bicycle up and up and up in the cold and wind and fog and rain of the cloud forest until I reached the top, the highway passes only a hundred feet from the summit above the tree line.

Up there I had ascended above all things physical and metaphysical. It was pretty neat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll fix your bike.
I'll convince you the climate is changing in a big bad way.
I'll write you into an article sometime.
