Music, Movies, and Books
Asian films are very interesting and creative right now and I have a soft spot for anything Russian. Favourite recent films; The Lives of Others, Once, Day Watch. I like a wide range of music, love slide guitar and electric violin. All-time favourite band: Little Feat. Currently, various NZ bands (Fat Freddy's Drop, Little Bushman, Hollie Smith) and a lot of stuff my son listens to, like the White Stripes, Muse and The Killers. Favourite travel-writer, Colin Thubron.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled through the new Central Asian Republics just after the breakup of the Russian Union. Blown away by the diversity of people, the depth of the history, the raw landscapes and rich architecture of these ancient places.
Teach, Learn, Share
Would love to talk design with other students or architects. Any drummers would be very welcome, as my son is learning the drums and has a kit at home.
