ABOUT ME

I´m a humble, but courageous girl. I have a passion for travelling and I´m thankful that I have a chance to travel basically wherever I want to. Not all of us in this world have that freedom. Another passion of mine is for Africa. I adore african music, dance and much about the life philosophy of africans. I also like reggae music which made me discover the meaning of love and through which I have met people who have changed my life. Travelling and the people whom I´ve met on my trips have also played a major role in my life and changed my way of thinking.
The alias (Amina) I´m using here was attached to me by the locals when I was visiting Nigeria. I had braids and I looked like a Hausa war-princess who had lived in the 16-17th century. In arabic the name means "truthful" or "trustworhy", also "favoured by God". In latin it means "a soul".

PHILOSOPHY

I live to fulfill my dreams. Every day is a step forward but it is also a step towards the death. So I think the most important thing is to stay healty and enjoy the time that is left, to cherish all the good people around and not to waist time for quarreling or bad thoughts.

I have a good experience couch surfing in Paris with a kind-hearted parisienne... An experience, that made other good experiences possible for me... For every action, there is a reaction!

Interests

I already mentioned travelling, africa and reggae in my description. Besides these I like reading, learning, I think that finding out new things is exciting, discovering something new about the world gives a lot of energy. I do dj-ing, playing african music, I like to share my music with other people and see how it works in the parties. I´ve also managed to organise some african dance workshops in Estonia, teaching other people what I have been taugt before myself. I am a member of estonian reggae&african music organization, called reggae.ee. To talk about acadmical interests than I´d like to study anthropology or african studies when I continue with my education. I have finished my first BA - in recreation management.

Music, Movies, and Books

All kinds of african, reggae and carribean music!! Tiken Jah Fakoly, Alpha Blondy, Kandia Koyate, Youssou N´Dour are the names that have stayed and will stay in my music collection top. When I came from Uganda I was musically in love with Bobi Wine - local dancehall king. Good party always passes with Magic System:) Senegaliese music is very spiritual, congelese is the most joyous in the world and so on and so on... One of the best movies I have seen that connects with my interests is Africa Paradis (2006) by Sylvestre Amoussou - action takes place in the imaginary future when all african countries are united and flourishing at the same time europe is in downfall and europeans desire to go to africa by all means. I´d love to teach/learn/share any kind of new knowlede, but I guess my passion for Africa and afican music would be worth to point out here.
